Last Week: All classes have started Unit 3: Fractions, Decimals and Percents. Students have made a foldable that include instructions and examples on how to convert between fractions, decimals and percents. They are encouraged to use these to help them throughout the unit!
This Week: We will be looking at the following concepts: terminating and repeating decimals, simplest form, and comparing and ordering fractions and decimals
Homework: 7A needs to have to 3.2 finished on Monday, Jan.22nd.
***This unit contains several outcomes and students are encouraged to review and do extra practice throughout. Extra practice sheets attached below.
Last Week: Students have been finishing the rough draft of their "Portrait of an Ecosystem" project. They have the sheet of requirements. Students also wrote a Topic 1-3 Quiz and should have them returned and signed next week.
This Week: Students will start painting their portraits. If they would like to do this on a canvas, they will need to bring them by Monday, Jan.22nd. Otherwise, they will be provided paper. Students will then need to explain then paintings using the vocabulary from the unit.

Just a reminder that the science fair will be on Thursday, January 25th. Students are being asked to be here at 5:15 and the science fair will be open to the public from 5:30 - 8 pm. We would also ask for students assistance for a few minutes after the science fair for take down.
Attached below are sample questions that students will be asked by the judges. We are encouraging them to print them off, write down the answers and practice answering them. We will be doing this next week in preparation as well.
