Welcome to Foods! I am excited to work with you to learn and cook some fun recipes. On the days you aren't cooking, you will be working on the restaurant menu assignment. Please read about it below.
Every year, the Foods 7 class has a buffet style celebration to end Foods. This includes each student bringing a dish to share with the class. Here is the schedule:
Day 2 -4 class: January 31st, 2018 Day 1-3 class: Feb.1st, 2018
We will be learning about knife safety and starting a project on food culture and etiquette. Some of our recipes will be homemade ramen and guacamole.
Next week, Foods 7 classes are having pizza showdown. In your group, you are going to be creating a new pizza! This class, you and your group will need to:
1. Come up with a name for your pizza. Make it unique! 2. Pick 4 ingredients that you would like to put on your pizza. (These must be OK'd by Ms. Rudolph before step 3!) Remember, the more unique, the better! I will be providing the crust. 3. Write a recipe for your pizza. Include exact amounts of ingredients and procedures. 4. Print if off before the end of class. Include pizza name, recipe and group members. Next week, groups will be cooking their pizzas. These will be judged by students and teachers in the school. Check out what they will be looking at below. Did you create a fun name for your new pizza? Does it look aesthetically pleasing? Is it cooked perfectly (not too brown on the bottom or too soft!) Is it flavorful? Does it use unique ingredients?
When you are not cooking in Foods class, you will be completing the restaurant menu assignment. Please complete everything online!
